How to offer breakfast in a boutique hotel without a kitchen
Three ways a small Athens hotel can offer breakfast with no kitchen or staff, and what it gains in reviews and revenue.

Many small hotels in central Athens have a strong product and location but one gap: no breakfast. There is no kitchen, no space and no team, and a full service rarely pays off for 15 or 20 rooms.
The gap shows up in reviews and revenue. On Booking.com and Expedia, many guests filter for breakfast-included options, so the hotel drops out of the search before it is even seen. It also cannot sell a Bed & Breakfast rate, which usually lifts ADR.
Three options for hotels without a kitchen
1. A partnership with a nearby café or restaurant
Guests get a voucher and eat out. It is simple, but the hotel does not control quality and the experience does not carry its name.
2. Packaged products in the room
Snacks and a coffee machine. Low cost, but it rarely justifies a B&B rate.
3. Breakfast boxes delivered daily
An outside partner delivers ready boxes of fresh products each morning, in the quantity occupancy calls for. The hotel needs no equipment or staff, and the breakfast carries its own branding.
Why breakfast boxes suit boutique hotels
- Fully variable cost: you pay per box, not for salaries and stock.
- New rate plans in your channels: you can open B&B rates on the OTAs and on your direct booking engine.
- Upsell at check-in: a higher box tier for an anniversary or honeymoon raises revenue per room.
- Better reviews: the box carries the hotel's name and is a personal touch guests remember.
- Flexibility: it works for early check-outs and business guests in a hurry.
Before you start, check what your operating licence allows regarding breakfast service.
Our recommendation: B·Cube
For the hotels we work with in Athens, we recommend B·Cube, a company owned by our partner Aggelos Petsi. It offers three box tiers (Standard, Premium, Ultra), co-branded packaging and delivery every morning based on occupancy. The SV Hospitality team links the service to your pricing strategy: new B&B rates, upsell packages and the right presentation across channels.
