What a revenue management department does
Revenue management is the daily decision about which rate each room should sell at, on which channel and on what terms. A hotel that sets its rates at the start of the season and rarely changes them leaves money on the table on high-demand days and loses occupancy in the weak weeks.
Large hotel groups have whole departments for this. Independent hotels can rarely pay an experienced revenue manager all year round. That is where we come in: SV Hospitality works as your hotel’s external sales and revenue department.
How we work
Demand-based pricing
We build a pricing strategy by room type and season and adjust it daily, based on booking pace, your competitors (comp set) and market events. We use restrictions such as minimum stay, early booking and last minute to fill gaps without lowering your average rate.
Distribution across every channel
We manage distribution as a whole: Booking.com, Expedia and the other OTAs, your channel manager, booking engine and rate parity. We improve content, photos and promotions on the OTAs while growing direct bookings from your own website, which carry the lowest commission.
B2B sales and tour operators
With 20 years of relationships with tour operators, bed banks and OTAs, we negotiate contracts, allotments and release periods that fit your hotel’s profile. For city hotels we develop corporate clients, groups and events.
Reports you will actually read
Every week you get a booking update, and every month a report on the key metrics: occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, channel mix and how you compare with your competitors.
What to expect
- Pricing and channels fully up and running within 2–3 weeks.
- One person who knows your hotel and answers quickly.
- RevPAR growth that is typically 15–20% in the first year of working together.
- Final decisions always staying with the hotel’s management.
